FREE WILL ASTROLOGY – Week beginning June 3, 2021

GEMINI (from May 21 to June 20):
“All I want to be normally is crazy,” said actor Marlon Brando. Oh! I have a different perspective. I never want to be usually crazy because that state often tends to be sullen, desperate and miserable. My preferred goal is to be abnormally insane: lush, robust, and creatively free from the toxic adjustments our society tells us are necessary. I want to be cheerfully crazy in the sense of not being tyrannized by conventional wisdom. I want to be proactively crazy in the sense of obeying the urges of my soul rather than conforming to people’s expectations. I bring this to your attention, Gemini, because I think the next few weeks will be a fruitful time for you to be my kind of crazy.

CANCER (from June 21 to July 22):
“It is one thing to make a mistake, and another is to marry him,” advises the author. Irena Karafilly. Let’s make that one of your key truths in the weeks ahead. Now is a good time to offer your forgiveness and move on with whatever wrong turns you may have made. Here’s a second key truth, courtesy of composer Igor Stravinsky: “I have learned throughout my life as a composer primarily through my mistakes and the search for false assumptions, not through my exposure to sources of wisdom and knowledge.” Third key truth, from Sufi master Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan: “Don’t worry about being disloyal to your pain by being cheerful.”

LEO (July 23 to August 22):
Based on my analysis of astrological omens, the number of perfect moments you will experience over the next two weeks could break all your previous records. And what do I mean by “perfect moments”? 1. Times when life brings you interesting events, feelings, or thoughts that are novel and unique. 2. Fundamental points when you feel you are going through a fundamental change in attitude or a new way of understanding the world. 3. Jump out of your own mind and enter the mind of an animal or another person to have a pure vision of what their experience is like. 4. An absolute appreciation for yourself as you are now.

VIRGO (from August 23 to September 22):
“There is a strong shadow where there is a lot of light,” wrote the Virgo author. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832). That is a good metaphor for you these days. Since I suspect that it is currently glowing as brightly as possible, I will urge you to become very aware of the shadows it casts. In other words, try to get a glimpse of the immature and shapeless parts of your nature, which can be seen more easily than usual. Now, while you are relatively strong and vibrant, investigate what aspects of your inner world might need improvement, nurturing, and healing.

LIBRA (from September 23 to October 22):
According to physicists, it is impossible for a human to suck water through a straw that is more than 34 feet long. So please don’t even try to do that, not now, not ever. However, if you have a good reason to try sucking up water through a 33-foot straw, now would be a great time to do so. Your physical strength should be at its peak, as should your ability to succeed in amazing and Herculean tasks. How else could you direct your splendid abilities? What other ambitious feats could you accomplish?

ESCORPION (from October 23 to November 21):
Scorpio poet Pound of esdras he had character flaws that annoy me. But he also had a quality that I admire: the generosity in helping his friends and colleagues. Among the writers whose work he enthusiastically championed and promoted were 20th century literary icons James Joyce, TS Eliot, Marianne Moore, Hilda Doolittle, William Butler Yeats, Ernest Hemingway, William Carlos Williams, and Robert Frost. Pound edited their work, arranged for it to be published in magazines and anthologies, connected them with sponsors and publishers, and even gave them money and clothing. In keeping with astrological omens, I encourage you to be like Ezra Pound in the weeks to come. Go the extra mile to support and empower your allies. Help them do what they do well. Doing so will be the best for you!

SAGITTARIUS (from November 22 to December 21):
Poet Tess gallagher praises those moments “in which desire has strengthened our body.” I want you to have a lot of those moments over the next few weeks. And I hope growing them is an excellent healing strategy. So here’s my advice: do whatever it takes to summon and celebrate the strong longings that will strengthen your body. Make fun of them in generous presence. Treasure them and reverence them and erase them with joyous passion.

CAPRICORN (from December 22 to January 19):
“Living is so amazing that it leaves little time for anything else,” observed the poet. Emily Dickinson. That’s the truth! Given how demanding it is to adapt to the challenges, distractions, and incessant opportunities of the daily rhythm, I am impressed that any of us have finished our work. According to my astrological analysis, you Capricorns are experiencing a major outbreak of this phenomenon. It’s probably even harder than usual to get the job done, simply because life keeps leaving you with interesting surprises that require your wit and ingenuity. The good news is that these waves of wits and wits will serve you well when the fuss subsides a bit and you get back to work more.

AQUARIUS (from January 20 to February 18):
Born in Aquarius August Strindberg (1849-1912) was a masterful and influential playwright. He also liked to dabble in painting and photography. His focus on those two fields was different from the polish he cultivated in his writing. “I am a hobbyist and I intend to continue to be,” he testified of his focus on the visual arts. “I reject all forms of cunning or professional virtuosity.” For now, Aquarius, I recommend that you experiment with this last attitude in your own field. Your skill and seriousness will benefit from a dose of playful innocence, even calculated naivety.

PISCES (from February 19 to March 20):
Which of the astrological signs feels the deepest feelings? I say that you are Pisceans. You are connoisseurs of deep feelings, as well as specialists in mysterious feelings, of multiple splendors and brushstrokes with infinity. And right now, you are in the deepest feeling phase of your personal cycle. I won’t be surprised if you feel a bit overwhelmed by the richness of it all. But that’s mostly a good thing I should be thankful for – a privilege and a super power! Now here’s some advice from deep feelings author Pearl Buck: “You can’t make yourself feel something you don’t feel, but you can do it right despite your feelings.”

ARIES (March 21 to April 19):
“There is ecstasy in paying attention,” writes the author of Aries. Anne Lamott. That is always true for everyone, but it is more true for you Aries people. And it will be especially true for you for the next 20 days. I hope you dedicate yourself to celebrating and improving your perceptual skills. I hope you resolve to see and record everything as it is in the present moment, fresh and unprecedented, and not as it was in the past or will be in the future. For best results, eliminate all preconceptions that may interfere with your ability to realize what is raw and real. If you practice these high arts with exhilarating diligence, you will be rewarded with flows of ecstasy.

TAURUS (from April 20 to May 20):
Your guiding wisdom comes from the author of Taurus Annie dillard. She writes: “I think it would be good, appropriate, obedient and pure, to grasp your only need and not let it go, hang on it limp wherever it takes you.” I suspect that Dillard’s approach will allow him to keep the pace right and do all the right moves for the next several weeks. If you agree with me, your first crucial step will be to identify the nature of your “unique need.” Not two needs. Only the most important.
