True + Luscious Super Moisture Lipstick Is My Ideal Winter Beauty Product

Thanks to nearly a year of being advised to wear masks whenever we’re out in public, sales of lip products are reportedly down. I’ll admit that my lipsticks, glosses, and even trusty balms were beginning to gather an impressive layer of dust — lately, however, it’s the type of makeup I find myself most excited to put on. I’m rediscovering old favorites, but also building up a collection of new staples, including the True + Luscious Super Moisture Lipstick.

True + Luscious is a fairly new brand, started by beauty industry veteran Mehir Sethi. Per the brand website, all the products follow Sephora’s clean beauty standards, plus are 100% vegan and cruelty-free. At this point, I think we’ve generally gotten past the idea that clean beauty products can’t feel luxe or have intense color payoff — but if you still needed some convincing this lipstick should do the trick.

As far as super moisture goes, the product certainly lives up to its name. Packed with hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid, konjac root powder, and vitamin E, it glides on so smoothly that I briefly thought it had started melting. The lipstick is incredibly lightweight and has a nice, dewy finish that I personally think looks great for all my Zoom meetings and “still not leaving the house” selfies. This stuff has been especially crucial in the winter, when my lips tend to dry up at the mere mention of a chilly forecast.

The most exciting thing, for me, is that the shade I tried — Vintage Rose — almost perfectly matches my natural, light mauve lip color. That means it works equally well on days when I want to go (nearly) au naturale as when I’m feeling inspired to try out some bolder above-the-mask eye makeup. In uncertain times like this, it’s nice to have something you can steadily rely on… even if it’s just a lipstick.

You’ll find the True + Luscious Super Moisture Lipstick in our January 2021 Allure Beauty Box.
