Jane Fonda Wore $9 Mascara to the 2021 Golden Globes — See Photos

It was a monumental night for Jane Fonda. At tonight’s 2021 Golden Globes, the iconic movie star received the Cecil B. DeMille Award for her incredible work in the film industry. She stepped out at the annual award show wearing a beautiful cream suit, silver heels, and ethereal gold earrings. For her beauty look, she kept it fresh and classic, with dewy skin, full lashes, and a nude lip.

Makeup artist David Deleon says his inspiration was based on Fonda’s hair, as well as her gorgeous suit. “During this past year, Jane has been growing her hair out to its natural silver tone, which is a gorgeous and striking frame for her face,” he tells Allure. “Her outfit for tonight is a beautiful cream-colored Richard Tyler tuxedo, [so] my inspiration for tonight’s look is fresh, modern Hollywood glamour.”

Her look was all about dramatic eyes and fresh skin, says Delon. “I started by prepping her skin with L’Oréal Paris’s Age Perfect Rosy Tone Moisturizer, and then I applied the Age Perfect Radiant Serum Foundation for a medium coverage, lightweight finish.”

On her eyes, he created a soft smoky look to add definition. “I used neutral smoky tones of grey, pewter, and charcoal eyeshadows to make her eyes pop, and used L’Oréal Paris’s Glide Eyeliner in Charcoal and Voluminous Original Mascara in Black to give added expression and depth,” says Deleon. “This, paired with a set of lashes, complimented her eye makeup.”

For her cheeks, Deleon used the brand’s Radiant Satin Blush in Marigold for a subtle glow; then he added the Perfect Satin Lipstick in Pink Petal to tie everything together.

On hair was Jonathan Hanousek, who tells Allure, “[The] tuxedo was very structured so I wanted to create a hairstyle that was feminine with a touch of drama to complement her chic outfit.” He started by washing her hair with L’sOréal Paris’s Ever Pure Brass-Toning Purple Shampoo “It counters any yellow and really brightens silver hair,” he says.

Before blowing out her hair, Hanousek used the brand’s Blow Dry It Quick Dry Primer Spray to protect her hair and speed up drying time. “I then applied the Volume Inject Mousse roots to her ends which provides long-lasting body and hold.” Following mousse, he used a medium round brush to style her hair like so. “Starting in the back, I blew the hair under from the nape to her crown,” he says. “On the top of her head and sides, I blew the roots forward and then using the round brush, I directed the hair back and up while keeping the roots close to the head.”

He finished the look off with a few spritzes of the drugstore brand’s Dream Lengths Air Volume Dry Shampoo and its Elnett Satin Hairspray. “It’s humidity resistant and it lasts all day.”
