The skin around the undereye area is arguably one of the most sensitive on anyone’s face, including mine. And with my natural dark circles, I always want to make sure that part of my mug is well taken care of.
Mudmasky’s Serum-Infused Eye Mask is one of the products I’ve been using lately to give the skin underneath my eyes a little bit of help. Ingredients like Japanese matcha and goji berry fruit extract boast antioxidants which the brand promises will improve the elasticity of your skin in four to seven uses. “Berries are our gift from Mother Nature,” says Mona Gohara, a dermatologist in Connecticut. “They are little [antioxidant] powerhouses that gobble up free radicals that wreak cosmetic havoc on the skin.”
The mask — which you can use up to three times a week — has a gel consistency. I squeezed out a tiny bit on my index finger, then gently swiped it over my under eye area and part of the way up my orbital bone.
Immediately, I got a cooling feeling, which I could tell was going to work against any leftover puffiness from being tired about, well, life. I applied a thin layer and then left it on, as the instructions indicated, for eight minutes. Then I washed it off with a bit of cold water. It contains kiwi seeds, which felt a little grainy, so I was careful not to press too hard.
Once the product was off, I did notice that my eyes looked less puffy and, though the formula is thin, it is really moisturizing. The mask doesn’t leave a filmy residue. Instead, you get the kind of moisture that feels like it’s penetrated your skin without feeling heavy.
Fine lines aren’t really an issue for me, so I don’t have much to report on that front. As for my dark circles, I noticed after even a single use, they weren’t as prominent. I definitely looked more awake, and as you can see in the photo, my undereye area is looking well moisturized.
