La Roche-Posay Anthelios Melt-In Milk Sunscreen SPF 100 Is Super Lightweight | Review

Knowing the cardinal rule of skin care (wear sunscreen every day) and following it are two different things. To stick to it, I’ve made it a priority to start the day with my skin care regimen, which includes La Roche-Posay Anthelios Melt-In Milk Sunscreen SPF 100 (according to the rules of layering, my sunscreen goes on last, on top of other skin care). I do this daily, even when I’m staying indoors, and by forming this habit, my sunscreen is always on. (Windows don’t block the UVA rays that break down collagen and stimulate excess pigment so it is important to wear sunscreen inside.)

From the broad spectrum of sunscreen choices, I wanted something that felt more like a sophisticated serum and less beach-in-a-bottle. It would have to blend seamlessly into my routine — and my skin. And most importantly, it needed to be above SPF 30, the recommended level of protection by dermatologists, who choose high SPFs for their own routines

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Melt-In Milk Sunscreen for Face & Body SPF 100 is all of that and more. It reminds me of a really good lotion, so it keeps my SPF ritual feeling like self-care rather than a chore. It’s a chemical sunscreen that is silky, fragrance-free, and infused with antioxidants and moisturizers including glycerin. Plus, it lives up to its “Melt-In” name. There’s no greasy residue, no chalkiness–on me or my colleagues with dark skin–and no excessive rubbing. So on days when I layer on my makeup, it’s a seamless application. And on no-makeup days, it leaves my complexion looking fresh and hydrated. Either way, I know my skin is protected.
