When The Last Choice Sheet Mask Is My First Choice for Hydration – Review

I love treating myself to a spa day at least once a week. For me, spa nights consist of a face mask, facial steamer, jade roller, and a cozy robe. I especially look forward to pulling out a cold, slimy, sheet mask from the fridge, instantly soothing and depuffing my complexion. It’s a self-care sensation I just can’t get enough of.

My skin drastically shifts from combination to dry come summertime, calling for some extra TLC. This biodegradable gel sheet mask made from coconut water can hold fluids up to 100 times its dry weight, meaning extra hydration and moisture-locking benefits.

I first make sure my face is properly cleansed with a gentle gel cleanser. Then, I pat my face dry with a cotton hand towel. (Washing your face before applying any type of mask is an absolute must, dirt or product build-up will prevent the effectiveness of any facial treatment.) I make sure to smooth out any wrinkles in the delicate mask as I transfer it onto my skin. Loaded with soothing ingredients like sodium hyaluronate, the real star here is saccharide isomerate — a plant-derived carbohydrate complex, similar to that found in human skin. Finally, I take my jade roller and gently roll along my face, making sure to pat in the edges which by now are saturated with product.

After 10 minutes or so, I remove the sheet mask and lightly tap in all the leftover serum until it’s fully absorbed. Not only does this sheet mask provide ample amounts of moisture, but knowing it is eco-friendly is an ethical choice. In the end, my face looks and feels like I drank the recommended amount of water for the day.
