Old toys have a new life through an app

Used toys for children are being given new life in the UK thanks to a free app, which allows parents to give away items their children no longer use to other families in their area.

Parents using YoungPlanet can list or request items, including books, toys, and baby items. If more than one person wants the same things, the app prioritizes those who need them the most or who have donated items in the past.

After a successful trial in London, the app is being rolled out nationwide. “We have enabled thousands of families not only to order sustainably, but to help other families by giving them access to the things they need or want, free of charge,” said Jason Ash, who launched YoungPlanet with his wife Emma.
