Before embarking on a day packed with campaign rallies, President Trump stopped at a library in Florida’s Palm Beach County on Saturday to cast his vote.

“I voted for a guy named Trump,” he told reporters.

While the president has voted by mail In the past, in recent months, he has denounced the integrity of voting by mail, falsely claiming that it results in rampant fraud.

“It was a very safe vote, much safer than when you cast a ballot,” Trump said Saturday, without proof.

While many states have rushed to expand voting by mail this spring due to the pandemic, Democrats have begun encouraging voters to cast their vote early and in person, if possible, as the possibility looms. Delayed tabulations and slowdown in the postal service.

More than 50 million people have already voted at the election either by mail or in person, in accordance with the American Election Project, a participation tracking database managed by University of Florida political scientist Michael McDonald.

Trump’s running mate, Vice President Mike Pence, voted early Friday in Indianapolis.

After voting, President Trump was scheduled to leave Florida for demonstrations Saturday in North Carolina and Ohio. The president will also hold a rally in Wisconsin, which is currently experiencing one of the worst coronavirus outbreaks in the country.

Trump told reporters that the demonstrations will be “big” and boasted of the crowds he has been drawing.

His Democratic opponent, Joe Biden, will hold a pair of rallies in Pennsylvania on Saturday, including a rally in Luzerne County with Jon Bon Jovi.
