Through their eyes: the photo bank giving balance to indigenous stories

It began in 2018 as a database of indigenous visual storytellers from across North America. Now the resource has been relaunched as Indigenous Photography – a global community of photographers seeking to balance the way stories about Indigenous peoples are told.

Their database is available to photo editors, creative directors, and others who regularly hire photographers. It is an effort to correct the fact that, historically, narratives about indigenous peoples have often been in the hands of non-indigenous people.
