Sofia Vergara Is Launching a New Celebrity Beauty Brand

There was a time, not so long ago, when it seemed every celebrity was getting a limited-edition collection with a beauty brand. But now, it seems more celebrities than not are forgoing the collaboration route and going full speed ahead, launching their own beauty brands. Movie stars, TV stars, musicians, influencers — every imaginable variety of famous person is turning their love of makeup, skin care, hair-care, and wellness into a business. And lucky for Sofia Vergara, it seems consumers haven’t hit celebrity-beauty-brand fatigue just yet.

Vergara, best known in the U.S. for her hilarious portrayal of Gloria on Modern Family, is the latest actor launching a beauty brand, WWD reports — though it doesn’t report much more than that. According to the outlet, the name of the brand is not yet known, nor is the category, but it will be “offering the consumer a new generation of smart products and solutions for skin care, beauty and health that we expect to be a success in the United States” — that, according to Juan Matji, president of Spain’s Cantabria Labs, one of Vergara’s partners in the business.

In addition to the other business partner, entrepreneur Luis Balaguer, WWD reports that Vergara’s brand will be led by the former president of Kiehl’s, Chris Salgardo.

“Throughout his career, Chris has proven himself to be one of the beauty industry’s most influential voices and leaders,” Vergara said in a statement to WWD. “His creativity, authenticity and track record for success make him an invaluable partner, and I am so excited to work with him and Cantabria Labs in this new endeavor.”

This won’t be Vergara’s first rodeo when it comes to being the face or name of a brand.
In the beauty sphere, she already has four fragrances (Sofia, Love Sofia, Tempting, and Tempting Paradise), is a Head & Shoulders spokesperson, and has previously appeared in CoverGirl commercials. She also has her Sofia Jeans brand at Walmart, an underwear subscription brand called EBY, a furniture collection at Rooms to Go, and a shoe collaboration with Payless.

Needless to say, as soon as more information is available on Vergara’s latest venture, we’ll be sharing it with you here.
