Whether she’s on or off the gymnastics floor, Simone Biles always looks stunning. At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, she showed off her pride for Team USA by wearing patriotic-themed eyeliner on the competition floor, and, more recently, she’s shown us that she loves changing up her hair color every once in a while. Believe it or not, she doesn’t always have a glam team by her side. In response to a question posted on her Instagram Stories during the Opening Ceremony of the 2021 Olympic Games, the four-time Olympic Gold medalist revealed that all athletes participating in the Tokyo Games are doing their own hair and makeup.
Were we surprised by this news? Sort of, but not really, considering the fact that COVID-19 still poses a threat in Tokyo and around the world. After all, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Biles has posted some pictures with her teammates ahead of the Opening Ceremony, and she and her teammates look anything but “busted.”
Sadly, Biles and the Team USA gymnasts did not participate in the Opening Ceremony because the team is “focused on preparation,” according to reporting from the New York Times. However, in the spirit of the occasion, she and her teammates did have their own private ceremony and posed for some pictures while decked out in their Team USA gear, per a report from the Washington Post.
Once Biles and Team USA hit the competition floor on Saturday, July 24, we’ll be sure to fill you in on the ladies’ self-made beauty looks. Cheers to you, Team USA.
