On June 19, the internet could not stop talking about Sha’Carri Richardson — for a good reason. The 21-year-old track star astonished fans that day on the 100-meter race as she outran her competitors, allowing her to qualify for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. People couldn’t help but praise Richardson for doing it all in a stunning tangerine-colored wig and extra-long, coffin-shaped acrylic nails, earning her comparisons to the iconic Olympian Flo Jo.
Although Richardson definitely loves a good wig as much as the next person, she also enjoys switching it up and letting her natural hair down. She recently posted a Boomerang on her Instagram Story with the caption, “You come deal with this.” The “this” in question refers to her lusciously round, expresso-colored ‘fro.
Although we don’t know if this is post-wash-day or a three-day-old style, her hair is full of amazing volume. She even added a sparkly filter to her hair to emphasize just how majestic it is. If you look closely, you might notice hints of cinnamon tint on the tips of her hair. Prior coloring isn’t exactly shocking knowing the track star loves experimenting with bright hair. We definitely need the 411 on her go-to products. Is she more of a thick butter and oil kind of girl or does she prefer gels and mousses for more hold?
Clearly, Richardson will be staying on our radar until the Olympics on July 23 and most likely beyond. We can’t wait to see what the young track star brings to the field, whether it’s another vivid wig or history-making speed.
