Haute couture during a pandemic may seem out of the realm of possibility (and low-key ridiculous), but fashion designers took this time to whisk us away to fantasy lands with the fairytale-worthy gowns and creations in their couture spring/summer 2021 collections shown in Paris this week. After being stuck in our homes for nearly a year, the stunning beauty moments that accompanied the fashion seen on the runway and in the designers’ lookbooks were a welcomed escape from reality.
At Chanel, Fendi, and Dior, there were headpieces galore made out of Venetian glass, fresh flowers, and raw crystals. Perhaps you’ll make your own in the coming weeks for a bit of fun decor to add to your Zoom meetings. You may even want to wear it out for some quick errands while you’re out it. Statement headbands are the perfect pairing with face masks when you think about it.
The couture spring/summer 2021 shows also showed off skin so wonderfully luminous they lit up dreary winter skies — and at Valentino, it was in such an unexpected-yet-classic Pat McGrath way you’ll have to see the look to believe it. These simple-yet-divine looks are sure to make you want to up your skin-care routine.
