Today’s post will be relatively short and sweet, especially considering that this read doesn’t require much summary outside of what’s already written.

What we can focus on here today is this very verse, which says: “My mother and my brothers are the ones who hear the word of God and do it” (Luke 8: 19-21). First, it is important to consider what the word of God is. So it is important to consider how those who voluntarily receive the word behave.

The word of God, to use the manual of virtues and strengths of character, perhaps is characterized mainly by love. People who enter into a relationship with God can feel close to Him and receive warmth and amiability of the Lord himself. This fundamental relationship with the Lord can also help us to be lights to those around us, giving them this same sense of warmth and amiability that characterizes love. Finally, Marty Seligman PERMA The pattern comes to mind as you reflect on this verse. When we listen and contract in the word of God in our lives, we strengthen our relationship with him, since it gives us the maximum sense too.
