Parables and Positive Psychology 09/22/20 – Positively Psychological
“My mother and my brothers are the ones who listen to the word of God and fulfill it.” (Luke 8: 19-21)
Today’s post will be relatively short and sweet, especially considering that this read doesn’t require much summary outside of what’s already written.
What we can focus on here today is this very verse, which says: “My mother and my brothers are the ones who hear the word of God and do it” (Luke 8: 19-21). First, it is important to consider what the word of God is. So it is important to consider how those who voluntarily receive the word behave.
The word of God, to use the manual of virtues and strengths of character, perhaps is characterized mainly by love. People who enter into a relationship with God can feel close to Him and receive warmth and amiability of the Lord himself. This fundamental relationship with the Lord can also help us to be lights to those around us, giving them this same sense of warmth and amiability that characterizes love. This ultimately ties in with our general sense of the virtue of humanity.
Those who receive and act on the word of God with an open heart should exemplify leadership, all the while making sure to show humility in their acts. They should also have a general sense of curiosity Y love of learning by the word of God itself. And finally, they must behave honestly in all your affairs. These are related to the virtues of wisdom, valueY Justice. As it is written, “To do what is right and just is more pleasing to the LORD than sacrifice” (Proverbs 21: 3).

When we listen and contract in the word of God in our lives, we strengthen our relationship with him, since it gives us the maximum sense too. He is the source of positive emotions in our lives, including gratitude Y sorry, which can also influence how we treat others. A general sense of achievement It arises from carrying out the Lord’s work and seeing it bear fruit in ourselves and in those around us.
