NYFW Fall 2021’s Best Hair and Makeup Moments — Photos

When New York Fashion Week is in full swing, you can definitely find Allure editors backstage interviewing the key hairstylist and makeup artist. Each show is a small thrill for us as we see the beauty trends for the upcoming season coming to life before our very eyes. It’s kind of like seeing the future being created before everyone else can. (And we get to see Dame Pat McGrath in her element.) 

Unfortunately, the pandemic is now keeping us home during NYFW for the second season in a row. Last year, for spring/summer 2021, we chatted with hairstylists and makeup artists via Zoom to get our usual details on the looks. Also, we peeked at the many lookbooks that took the place of runway shows. 

For fall 2021, fewer look books are happening as models are strutting catwalks once again. Audiences can catch the shows online, making their couches their front-row seats. (Jason Wu and Rebecca Minkoff, however, are holding in-person, socially distanced events.) But as usual, we’re sharing the best looks of the week.
