Nordstrom Inclusive Beauty: 12 Black-Owned Beauty Brands to Shop

If you’re a frequent Nordstrom shopper, we have some exciting news for you: The retail giant’s commitment to expanding its beauty selection and filling its shelves (both virtual and physical) with diverse brands that serve Black and brown consumers that have often been overlooked or undervalued in the beauty market. First launched in October 2020, the retail giant’s Inclusive Beauty category continues to grow and add more incredible and innovative Black-owned beauty brands to its lineup.

You’ll find plenty of Best of Beauty and Readers’ Choice Award winners among the star-studded offerings, which now include Beauty Bakerie, Baby Tress, Briogeo, Unsun, and Uoma Beauty. Nordstrom describes this section as “a curated assortment of products created for everyone, regardless of skin or hair type, tone, complexion, or texture” — aka what should be the baseline standard for the entire beauty industry

Of course, we appreciate seeing such a ubiquitous company prioritizing Black-owned brands and shining a light on all of the hard work indie brands are putting in behind-the-scenes to ensure Black consumers feel seen, heard, and represented in an industry still largely led by white males. And trust us when we tell you that these brands make up some of our favorite makeup, hair-care, and skin-care products on the market.

Now, without further ado, shop Nordstrom’s Inclusive Beauty category to find your new must-haves for 2021 and beyond.
