When Kyle went through a rough patch in his life, he thought adopting a three-legged dog would give him a sense of purpose again.
He went to the local shelter, and immediately, a three-legged laboratory stood out for him. Employees told him his hands would be full, but he immediately felt a strange connection to the dog.
But I couldn’t go home without the tiny lab puppy that was so bad he needed someone to adopt him.
“When Tre and I first met, I was going through a very difficult time in my life and I felt like I needed something to worry about,” Kyle said. “I came across this little 3-month-old black lab whose leg had just been amputated. They told me it would be a lot of work, you know, he was still getting used to walking on three legs. “
It was puppy love at first sight for Kyle.
But as soon as he saw Tre, he thought, “This dog is exactly what I need in my life right now!”
When Kyle brought him home, he soon realized that he would have to make some adjustments. The three-legged dog had a hard time walking on his slippery tile floor, so Kyle had an idea. She brought lots of yoga mats, rugs, and rugs to make things easier for her.
“I still had to help him learn to stand up, to learn to balance. We gradually increased the strength in his back leg so that he could walk on his own. “
After a little practice and the help of his father, Tre’s confidence and strength washed through him. He seemed comfortable and well adjusted, and life seemed good.

However, after about three months, Tre began to show signs of pain in her back leg. He didn’t want to put weight on him and cried every time he walked. Kyle immediately took him to the vet where they discovered that Tre had something called avascular necrosis. This condition occurs when blood flow does not reach the bone, causing the bone to disintegrate.
Sadly, the vet didn’t know if Tre would walk again. But, after undergoing another surgery, Tre recovered and strengthened once again. His determination and bravery greatly inspired Kyle, because he was able to see him overcome whatever challenge he faced.
“It’s really an inspiration, you know, there’s something special that happens when you see an innocent little puppy who, in his first 6 months of life, had two major surgeries,” Kyle said. “He lost a leg and almost lost another.”
After his surgery, Kyle held Tre for six to eight weeks, although he remained in the house for most of that time. To get it out of the way, Kyle would load it into his Jeep and drive it slowly around the neighborhood at night. Kyle said he looked forward to the trip every day.

Three months after his surgery, Tre finally went out for a walk around the entire neighborhood without sitting down even once. When Kyle sat next to him, he said he cried because he was so proud of his little boy. puppy.
“Now walk, run around the yard, chase squirrels and rabbits; there’s really nothing I can’t do, ”Kyle said. Watching Tre overcome obstacles inspires Kyle to take on challenges in his own life.
“I had always dreamed of competing in American Ninja Warrior, but after watching him go through what he went through, I got a new boost of confidence. I said, ‘You know what?’ I am going to chase my dreams and I will not stop until I achieve my goals. Seeing Tre overcome everything that has happened, always happy, always cheerful, makes you realize that when you believe in yourself, anything is possible! “
