MAC Magic Extension Mascara Makes Me Look Like I’m Wearing Falsies | Review

Every month we fill the Allure Beauty Box with our favorite moisturizers, lipsticks, and more — but this time we’re bringing you something a little different: The Allure Beauty Box’s new One to Watch seal, debuting on MAC Magic Extension Mascara (available at MAC Stores, MAC.com, and Ulta Beauty).

Allure has the exclusive on the mascara, so not only do we get to tell you about it first, but I had the chance to try MAC Magic Extension Mascara before almost anyone else (MAC R&D did beat me to it).

As the beauty assistant here at Allure, I test makeup all day long (insert smiley face emoji), and yet no mascara has come close to the volume and length I get from eyelash extensions — until now. A few swipes of the deeply pigmented MAC Magic Extension Mascara lift my stick-straight, short lashes and bring life back to my Zoom’d-out eyes — so much so that the results are comparable to the eye-opening effect I get from falsies.

All of this lifting and separating took MAC R&D more than half a year to perfect. The formula lengthens so well because it is saturated with 5 millimeter-long synthetic fibers (they are some of the longest on the market; on average, lengthening fibers in other mascaras are 1.5 or 2 millimeters long). The fibers add “volume, fullness, thickness and most importantly, length to lashes — without fallout or flaking,” says Betty Quan-Young, MAC’s Product Development Director. The wand’s conical shape reaches inner corners while its dense wires “stretch the lash length and maintain complete separation,” says Quan-Young.

My lifted, lengthened and feathered out lashes are here to tell you, it was well worth the six-plus months MAC spent refining this mascara.

Subscribe to the Allure Beauty Box now for the opportunity to be among the first to get your hands on MAC Magic Extension Mascara mascara. New members who sign up for the June Allure Beauty Box will receive the MAC Magic Extension Mascara as a new member gift while supplies last.
