If you keep up with Lucy Hale at all, then chances are you remember that she dyed her hair an auburn red hue for a project she’s working on at the end of September. (She even sent Allure an exclusive selfie of the finished transformation.) Now, though, less than two months later, the 31-year-old actor is back to her signature dark brown hair color.
On the evening of Friday, November 13, the “Katy Keene” actor showed off her freshly dyed strands via Instagram in a stunning selfie. She wrote, “Just like that – back to brunette – Thank you angel @colorbymattrez,” over the photo. Celebrity colorist Matt Rez also works with A-listers like Hale’s former co-star Ashley Benson, Camila Mendes, Lili Reinhart, and more.
From what we can tell, Hale went for virtually the same exact color that she had prior to going red: a rich, espresso brown shade that almost looks black in certain lighting. She doesn’t appear to have any highlights or lowlights, either, but rather just the one solid color. We love this ultra-dark brown shade on the actor as it looks incredible against her fair skin and really makes her green eyes stand out.
Auburn was certainly a fun color for the time being, but it clearly seems that Hale is partial to the brunette life. And well, we definitely don’t blame her.
