L’Occitane Immortelle Divine Creme is Sold Every 3 Minutes | Review

I don’t have especially dry skin, but I’m a fan of rich face creams for their dew-enhancing factor. And L’Occitane Immortelle Divine Creme has got this in spades, plus antioxidant and hydrating properties. A little goes a long way. I use a pea-size dollop for my whole face, and that small amount is enough to make my skin glow, giving my cheeks a healthy-looking, rosy flush, and the high points of my face a pretty dewiness. After I’ve smoothed it over my skin, I like to tap a little extra along my cheekbones for a natural looking highlight that lasts for hours. I am not alone in loving this glow: One jar of the cream is sold every 3 minutes worldwide, according to L’Occitane.

The brightening moisturizer also makes skin feel so much softer. Its namesake ingredient is antioxidant organic immortelle essential oil (a flower from Corsica). It’s got a unique ability: The small clustered buds retain their sunny yellow color after they dry out. (I had a bouquet of dried immortelles on my desk for about two years, and they looked as bright and cheery on day 730 as they did on day one. There are other botanical oils in this hydrating cream, as well – evening primrose and sunflower, to name two.

The cream has a flowery scent that is exactly what I think of when I imagine classic French skin care – if you love face creams with fancy fragrances this will be up your alley. But if your skin is sensitive to fragrance (which a lot of sensitive skin is) or if you prefer your skin care’s fragrance to be undetectable, then you will want to get a radiance boost elsewhere. (I’ve also tried the night serum in L’Occitane’s Immortelle line, L’Occitane Imortelle Overnight Reset Huile-in-Serum, and loved how its scent wasn’t noticeable.)
