A letter writing initiative that sees uplifting personal note packets being delivered to people in need of kind words is back with their ’12 days of love letter writing ‘campaign, and you can join the action.

There are four more days left until December’s More Love Letters campaign, and the organization says, “We need your italics to make this year the most impactful yet!

Register and each morning you will find a new letter request. Then you will have the day to write your letter to someone who might be feeling lonely or in need of additional encouragement in the form of a handwritten note, and you can write as many letters as you like.

Everyone who participates sends their letter to the address listed in More Love Letters, and all those notes are grouped together and passed on to the person receiving the action.

The people who get all those kind words, all those handwritten notes and letters and cards? They have been nominated by a friend or family member.

We told the story of MLL’s early days earlier this year, with founder Andrea Brechner saying, “I posted a simple question on my blog: ‘Do you need someone to write you a love letter today?’ and my inbox was filled with heartbreaking stories. ” She explained to Good News Network, “That question changed my life forever, as I spent the following year writing hundreds of love letters to strangers all over the world.”

Soon after, Brechner created MLL. There are now 42,000 members on Facebook, and more than a quarter of a million letters have been forwarded to surprise recipients since the organization’s inception in 2011.

Those letters make a difference. Here’s a recent note from a recipient on MLL’s Instagram:
