Kim Kardashian officially turned 40 on October 21, and well, if you’ve been on Instagram within the past day, then chances are you saw that her family threw one helluva birthday bash to celebrate the momentous occasion. The party featured epic recreations of the beauty mogul’s past birthdays and looked absolutely incredible. And as per usual, so did Kardashian. For the ultra-special soirée, she went for one of her signature beauty looks: a sultry brown smoky eye with winged liner and lush lashes, a glossy nude lip, long bombshell hair, and to top it all off, a classic French manicure.
On Friday, October 23, the Skims founder shared a series of candid photos from the party, and some of them give a good look at her makeup and nails. For instance, in one of the glamourous shots, Kardashian is shown sitting inside a car laughing with her eyes closed and one hand on her chest, so you can clearly see both her eye and nail look.
Unlike some of her sisters (looking at you, Kylie and Khloé), Kim K. seems to prefer more subdued manicures, as well as a shorter nail length — and her birthday party look is proof of that. Not only did she go for your classic French manicure with a light pink base and white tips, but she also opted for a pretty short style and a basic square shape.
If you’re interested in recreating her nail look at home, you’re in luck, because a French manicure is super easy to do. Simply paint your nails with a pale pink polish (like Essie’s Ballet Slippers) and then use a stencil or tiny brush (whatever’s easiest for you) to create the white tips. Then set the look with a top coat to give it some extra shine and ensure it won’t chip.
Congrats to Kardashian on turning 40. This is definitely one birthday beauty look we won’t forget.
