Here’s How Wasps Have Inspired an Innovative New Tool for Keyhole Surgery

[ad_1]

Dutch scientists have designed a new device to be used in keyhole surgery, and it is inspired by the way parasitoid wasps lay their eggs.

At the moment, the tools used in such surgery can end up getting stuck because they use suction.

This new tool doesn’t have that problem because it uses friction.

According to the BBC, the team at Delft University of Technology has been busy creating a working prototype.

The plan is for the tool to be ready and available for use in the next few years.
