Harry Josh Pro Tools Pro Dryer 2000 Gives Me My Best Hair Ever | Review

Growing up, I never blow-dried my hair. I was always an air-dry kind of girl for two reasons: One, I’m lazy, and two, I couldn’t find a blow-dryer that did exactly what I wanted it to do. You see, I have really long hair, it’s naturally wavy and stubborn, so it takes a lot of energy for me to achieve that salon-level blowout without leaving the house. That is, until I found the Harry Josh Pro Tools Pro Dryer 2000. 

Let’s get something straight here: This is not your average blow-dryer. It’s better. To me, it’s the pastel-colored Rolls-Royce of blow-dryers (it would get five stars if we rated things that way). As mentioned, the results after using it are the closest I’ve ever come to getting a salon-quality blowout at home. 

The reason why has a lot to do with the tech and features behind it. It has a cool-shot button, three speed options, three heat settings, and an ion button. According to hairstylist Andrew Fitzsimmons, the ion option promotes softness and shine while ensuring a silky-smooth finish, free of static. “The science behind this blow-dryer is kind of like magic — it’s great if you’re looking to tame frizz because this will do just that,” he says.

But back to the features. The Harry Josh hot tool is a lightweight, compact dryer that comes with two nozzles to control airflow and 1875 watts of power — aka, it dries my super-long hair in no time. After stepping out of the shower, towel-drying my hair, and sectioning it off, I can have achieve a blowout in roughly 20 minutes, which is impressive if you have my hand-eye coordination (I can’t even paint my own nails). 

My favorite way to use this blow-dryer is to run the highest heat setting along my hair, giving special attention to my roots, while I brush through with a large round brush (right now I’m using the Kristin Ess Volumizing + Smoothing Large Round Hair Brush), and then on my last run-through, I’ll hit it with the cold-shot button to lock it all the heat. 

The result is a voluminous finish with zero frizz that lasts for two days straight — no touch-ups needed. While I’m no scientist, I’ve found that the extra hit of cool air helps to extend my blowout another day or two, but that’s just my experience.

That being said, to keep it real, I know this tool costs a pretty penny, but it’s so worth it. To borrow advice from Ferris Bueller, if you have the means, we highly recommend picking one up.
