Throughout her extensive career, music legend Cher has brought countless iconic looks to the stage, whether it’s larger-than-life curly hair or a platinum blonde wig with an elaborate hairpiece. It was only a matter of time before Cher graced TikTok with her unmatched style. In fact, she just did so with a major beauty question for her fans: Do you prefer blonde or brunette?
On June 23, the music icon officially shared her first TikTok with the world and showed us the key to debuting on a new social app is wearing not one, but two wigs. In the clip, Cher practices her introduction — as if she needs one — four different times, twice in a gorgeous bright blonde wig, and the other two times in a longer, brown unit.
First, she gives a big smile and says, “Hi, it’s me, the great and powerful Cher, and I’m on TikTok,” with the blonde wig in tow. Cher is definitely no stranger to blonde hair, but this striking platinum particularly illuminates her face. We also adore how the wig has dark roots that seamlessly fade into the white blonde. The curled ends, which rest along her collarbones, give the wig an amazing bounce and volume, too.
For her second look, Cher pops in the frame with her signature aesthetic on full display: a waist-length dark chocolate wig with impeccable waves. In a move that likely thrilled all her Gen Z fans, she separated her hair right down the middle like she typically has over the past couple of decades. Then, she shares her last introduction, which may be the best one of the whole video as she gives praise to the LGBTQIA+ community. “Hi! Of course, you know who I am,” she enthusiastically tells the camera. “I was going to introduce myself, but Happy Pride month to everyone in the community that I love and that means you.”
As for our answer to Cher’s hair question, well, we abstain. Choosing between the two trademark looks is like choosing our favorite Cher song, and we simply will not do that. If this video is any indication of her TikTok content to come, then sign us up for live updates. Hopefully, she gives us a brand-new wig with each new video for us to ooh and ahh over.
