Black Representation in Magazine Covers

More and more we’re seeing beautiful black women on the faces of magazines like Vanity Fair and Vogue, rocking their stunning natural hair for the world to see. From some of the biggest names in music to gorgeous women in fashion, here are some of the recent magazine covers that stuck out recently. 

On the recent cover of Elle Magazine, actress Tracee Ellis Ross took to the front page and wowed with her natural hair. As an advocate for natural black beauty and confidence, she looked amazing in an abundance of different hairstyles, from unique to natural, as she talked about all kinds of different issues black women face in the industry.

The absolute legend Zendaya was featured on the cover of Marie Claire magazine, donned in stunning makeup and a more retro hairstyle. She talked about not only her experience growing out of Disney, but also the array of different hairstyles she’s frequently seen in and how black hair carries a strong message behind it.

On the cover of Porter Magazine, Lupita Nyong’o was seen shining with her usual shaved hair and a gorgeous lip color. Lupita discusses the impact that fame has on many young women’s lives and the strength and bravery it takes to star in many of the more noteworthy, sometimes controversial films.

Finally, also on the younger side of Hollywood, actress Yara Shahidi was noted on the cover of the Hollywood Reporter, with a beautiful hairstyle and outfit to match. Yara talked about her activism in fighting in Hollywood for everything from black beauty to her dream of being president.
