Our partner Rob Brezsny provides his weekly wisdom to illuminate our thinking and motivate our mood. He is also the author of Pronoia is the antidote to paranoia: how all of creation is conspiring to shower you with blessings. (A free preview of the book is available here.)

Here’s your weekly horoscope …

FREE WILL ASTROLOGY – Week beginning May 20, 2021
Copyright by Rob Brezsny, FreeWillAstrology.com

GEMINI (from May 21 to June 20):
A blogger named Valentine Cassius reports: “A tiny old lady walked into the deli where I work and asked for a ‘wonderful turkey sandwich.’ When asked what he wanted in the sandwich besides turkey, he said ‘all of its most wonderful ingredients’. “This is my answer to that: the tiny old lady approach is generally not very effective. It is almost always preferable to be very specific in knowing what you want and asking for it. But given the current astrological omens, I’ll make an exception for the next three weeks. I think you should be like the tiny old lady: ask life, fate, people, spirits and gods to bring you all their most wonderful ingredients.

CANCER (from June 21 to July 22):
“I’m tired of trying to hold things together that can’t be held,” the Cancer novelist testifies. Erin morgenstern. “Tired of trying to control what cannot be controlled.” Here’s good news for her and all Cancerians. You have cosmic permission to surrender, to no longer try to hold together things that cannot be sustained or to try to control what cannot be controlled. Perhaps in a few weeks you will have acquired so much new and relaxed wisdom that you will be inspired to make new attempts to stick together and control. But that’s not for you to worry and wonder at this point. Your task is to nurture your psychological and spiritual health by letting yourself go.

LEO (July 23 to August 22):
Philosopher Georges bataille wrote: “The lesson of Wuthering Heights, of Greek tragedy and, ultimately, of all religions, is that there is an instinctive tendency toward divine intoxication that the rational world of calculation cannot bear. This tendency is the opposite of Good. The good is based on the common interest, which implies the consideration of the future ”. I will disagree with Bataille’s point of view. I agree that we all have an instinctive longing for divine intoxication, but I believe that the rational world needs us to periodically satisfy our longing for divine intoxication. In fact, the rational world becomes obsolete and begins to decay without these interludes. So the truth is that divine intoxication is crucial to the common good. I tell you this, Leo, because I believe that the next few weeks will be an auspicious time for you to claim a healthy dose of divine drunkenness.

VIRGO (from August 23 to September 22):
Virgo actress Ingrid Bergman (1915-1982) won the most prestigious awards possible for her work in movies, television, and theater: Oscars, Emmy, and a Tony. She was smart, talented, and beautiful. However, life was challenging when she was growing up. She testified: “I was the shyest human being ever invented, but I had a lion inside of me that wouldn’t shut up.” If you have a sleeping lion inside you, Virgo, I hope it wakes up soon. And if your inner lion is already wide awake and you have a decent relationship with him, I suspect that he will soon begin to reach his full glory.

LIBRA (from September 23 to October 22):
Libra author Antonio Tabucchi I described the state of mind that I recommend to you in the next few days. I hope you are eager to accept your powerful empathy. Like him, I am confident that you will expand your ability to call the whole world your home. Here is Tabucchi’s statement: “Like a burning comet, I have traversed endless nights, interstellar spaces of imagination, voluptuousness and fear. I have been a man, a woman, an old man, a girl, I have been the crowd on the great boulevards of the capitals of the West, I have been the serene Buddha of the East. I have been the sun and the moon. “

ESCORPION (from October 23 to November 21):
Author James frey writes: “I used to think it was tough, but then I realized it wasn’t. He was fragile and wore thick armor. And I hurt people so they couldn’t hurt me. And I thought that was being tough, but it’s not. “I agree with Frey. The behavior he describes has nothing to do with being tough. So what does he do? It’s important that you think about that, because the next few weeks it will be a great time to be tough in the best sense of the word. Here are my definitions: Being tough means never allowing people to disrespect or abuse you, even when you cultivate empathy for how hurt everyone is. Tough means loving yourself with such unconditional grace that you never act out because of a neurotic need to defend yourself excessively.Being tough means being compassionate and sincere.

SAGITTARIUS (from November 22 to December 21):
Fragile intensity or intense fragility? Fierce kindness or gentle ferocity? Vulnerable force or strong vulnerability? I suspect that these will be some of the paradoxical issues that you will delicately grapple with in the coming days. Other possibilities: sensitive boldness or bold sensitivity; fluidic fire or burning fluidity; crazy wisdom or wise madness; penetrating softness or soft penetration; Unstable balance or serene shaking. My advice is that you consider complexes as rich as these as blessings, not confusions or inconveniences.

CAPRICORN (from December 22 to January 19):
Birds that live in cities have come up with an ingenious adaptation. They use cigarette butts left behind by humans to build their nests. They somehow discovered that nicotine is an insecticide that dispels pests like fleas, lice, and mites. Given your current astrological aspects, I suppose you could make metaphorically comparable adjustments to your own life. Are there ways you can use waste and discards to your advantage?

AQUARIUS (from January 20 to February 18):
A blogger named Raven testifies: “My heart is a little boy who throws a tantrum in a store and my brain is the father who keeps shopping.” I am happy to inform you, Aquarius, that your heart will NOT act like that child in the next few weeks. In fact, I believe that his heart will be like a wise old man with increasing wisdom in the arts, intimacy and tenderness. In my vision of your life, your heart will guide you better than ever. Now here’s a message for your brain: Listen to your heart!

PISCES (from February 19 to March 20):
The Voyager 1 space probe, launched by NASA in 1977, is now more than 14 billion miles from Earth. By contrast, the furthest humans have ever penetrated the ground is 7.62 miles. It is the super deep well of Kola in northwestern Russia. Metaphorically speaking, these facts provide an evocative metaphor for the following truth: Most humans feel more confident and expansive about exploring the outer world than their inner realms. But I hope that in the coming weeks you buck that trend, as it breaks all previous records for curious and luxurious exploration into its deepest psychic depths.

ARIES (March 21 to April 19):
“Open your mouth only if what you are going to say is more beautiful than silence,” declares an Arabic proverb. That is a high standard to aspire to. Even at our best, when we’re flying with articulate vitality, it’s hard to be more beautiful than silence for more than, say, 50 percent of the time. But here’s a nice surprise: it could beat that benchmark for the next three weeks. You are prepared to be more expressive and interesting. When you speak, you can be more beautiful than silence up to 80 percent of the time.

TAURUS (from April 20 to May 20):
Here is the definition of an emotional support animal: “a companion animal that provides a therapeutic benefit to a person with a mental or psychiatric disability.” I don’t want to be frivolous, but I think we all have at least one mental or psychiatric disability that would benefit from the company of an emotional support animal. If you were ever to acquire such an ally, the next few weeks would be the best time to do so. I encourage you to also seek out other types of help, guidance, and encouragement that you would benefit from having. It is the resource gathering phase of your cycle. (PS: César Chávez said: “You are never strong enough not to need help”).
