A Scottish dollhouse enthusiast creates small plates, including takeout and sushi, which are sold to collectors as far away as the United States.

Roz MacLean, 41, began selling small meals no bigger than a large coin in November 2019, after making one for her mother’s dollhouse.

His designs have included everything from fish and chips to full roast dinners.

The pharmacy technician taught herself how to make the tiny designs four years ago by watching YouTube videos.

She makes unique items out of polymer clay by molding them into shapes.

Then she uses chalk cakes, razors, and even a toothbrush to get the details up before putting them in the oven for 30 minutes where they are placed at her home in Inverness.

After uploading the items to Etsy, a website focused on handmade or vintage items, Roz began to turn heads for the designs, with people all over the world requesting custom designs.

The price of small meals varies by design and can range from $ 7 to $ 35.

Roz, a mother of two, said: “I’ve always loved miniature items, I’ve always been fascinated by making such small things. The idea of preparing meals just came out of the love for food and how much fun it would be to design these meals. “

It’s a time-consuming hobby, says Roz, who explains: “If someone asks for a decorative cake, it may take a while… [Every design] it takes hours and sometimes a full day to prepare a meal.

Now her family home even has a small food workshop in the guest bedroom, and her two young children, ages 9 and 4, sometimes help with designs.
