2021 BET AWARDS “Glam Slam”

Let’s talk Fashion, Fashion and more Fashion. Let’s talk Sullivan in Gucci, Rae in Balmain, Saweetie in Dolce and Gabbana and Bailey in Valentino.

The BET Awards 2021 was slammed with glam from the ladies to the guys. “Tonight, I wanted to be bright and bold with my look. It’s been a while, well over a year since we have been in this space and I wanted to step out” says winner of the winner of the Best Album; Jazmine Sullivan. She says this about her win, “It feels amazing to be recognized. I have been in this game for a long time and most people m. To have my mom with me feels amazing and it feels great to share this with her.

In my new album the inspiration came from conversations that I had with my girlfriends and show that show their glory in relationships and situations that they were going through and have been through. I was encouraged to step into my womanhood, and I wanted women to embrace their sexuality and love on who they are. I wanted my project to be a reflection of growth and freedom.”

Actress and Model Eva Marcille was dolled up with hair and makeup by Terrell Mullin @terrellmullin and wore a dress by her good friend Micheal Costello talked about her journey through life as a reality star and actress, “reality tv only existed from my history of being on America’s Next Top Model and RHOA, so people only equate my success to those two entities rather than my full body of work. I have been in this business for over 19 years and 98% of my money comes from acting and modeling. Being on reality show was fun for me and it served its purpose, I had 2 kids and got married but it was time to head into something I really loved. My new tv show (All The Queens Men airing on BET+) shows me building and empire and running the show. It’s been an absolute joy filming and we hope to make it into season 2”.

One of the biggest highlights during tonight’s show was the all-star lineup of female hip-hop artists that included, Lil Kim, MC Lyte, Moni Love, and Rapsody who paid tribute to the BET Humanitarian Honoree; Queen Latifah.

Rocking Braids by @braid_artistry and makeup by Kierra Lanice @kierralanice, Rapsody who was styled by the legendary Misa Hylton says; “It feels good to know that people see you and embrace who you are. I’m grateful that they receive my energy. Performing with MC Lyte, Moni Love and Lil Kim was iconic and unreal. I saw myself in them as a young rapper a young girl who loved dresses but enjoyed dressing like a tomboy. It’s dope to see women in hip-hop and respect each other. Each one of these ladies have helped me whether they are aware or not and I’m just thankful that BET invited me along to pay tribute and give flowers to one of my greats. I’m grateful to be outside and to travel too, this show is just the beginning of us getting back to normal. I’m working on a new project and helping new artist develop. Queen Latifa has been such an inspiration to me and who she is, is who I aspire to be as a grow and achieve more”.
